This blanket has been done for a little while, patiently awaiting the arrival of a little girl to love it.
My niece Lily was born earlier this month and I can’t wait to visit her and bring her blanket to her. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom was the inspiration for this alphabet blanket and it’s a favorite book at her house.
The finished size is 30″ square. I used an “H” hook and worsted weight acrylic yarn. I actually purchased new yarn for this project because I wanted the colors to be just right.
I used my favorite worsted acrylic, I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby in:
- Hot Rose
- Orange
- Jelly Bean (Green)
- Graphite (My favorite- I use it in everything!)
- Royal (Blue)
- Grape
- Brown
The letters are from a favorite free Ravelry download, Alphabet Letter Squares by Mary Walker. I used it before in my Granny Square Alphabet Afghan.
I chained the blocks together (except for Z) and finished with a bobble border. I have done a video tutorial for the border and I used the same method in my Bobble Spot Baby Blanket.
